Frequently Asked Questions

Below are answers to questions we've been asked with great frequency.

Q. What currency do you use?
A. 
All of our products are displayed in British Sterling (GBP) by default. However, you can choose to have live prices displayed in a number of currencies by selecting your region's currency from the drop down menu in the top right of the website on desktop, or at the bottom of the page in the footer if you are browsing on a mobile device. 

Q. What is the difference between GT and TT?
A. The difference is the pattern of the carbon fibre weave, the GT reflects the woven carbon fibre found in Formula One racing, where as TT reflects the type of weave used in the world of super bikes.   

 

Q. Do you ship internationally? 
A. Yes we ship to anywhere in the world. 

 

Q. How long does shipping take?
A. Domestic post has a delivery estimate of 2-3 working days from date of postage. International postage has a delivery estimate of 5-7 working days from date of postage. In rare circumstances, domestic post can take up to twenty days to arrive and twenty five for international.

 

Q. Which courier service do you use?
A. Royal Mail, FedEx and DHL are our couriers of choice.

 

Q. I'm an international customer. Who will deliver my parcel?
A.Your domestic postal service will take over from Royal Mail once your parcel has arrived in your country. FedEx and DHL will delvier their shipmetns end-to-end.

 

Q. Can I track my parcel?
A. Domestic tracking will update when a delivery attempt is made or when the item is successfully delivered. International items will have tracking which will vary by destination country.

 

Q. What is the leather made of?
A.Carbon fibre impregnated leather. This stuff is currently used in high end vehicles (yachts, supercars and so on) and in Formula One, all due to it's incredible abrasion resistance and it looks amazing.

 

Q. I have made a mistake and no longer want the product, what do I do? 
A. Not a problem, just return the product in its original packaging, in an undamaged working state, and we will give you a full refund for the price of the item. Please enclose your original invoice and a note explaining you would like a refund.

Questions regarding Lockstone
 

Q. How strong will my chosen fragrance be?

A. This will vary dependent on the strength of the fragrance itself. Below is a list of fragrance types and their varying strengths:

Perfume: high concentration of essences that see up to 40% of the formula being pure scent.

Eau de Parfum: contains over 15% of pure essence

Eau de Toilette can contain up to around 10% aromatic essence

Eau de Cologne This tends to contain about 7% aromatic essence

Q. How often should I charge my Lockstone?

A. This all depends how strong you want your fragrance to be. In the case of strong fragrances (high concentration of pure scent), you may only wish to charge once or twice a week. For subtler scents, daily to once every few days may be more appropriate.

Q. Can I change fragrance?

A. With the Plus range, you can change the stone to a different fragrance. With the One range, we advise you only use one fragrance

Q. Will Lockstone absorb other scents/smells?

A. We've been testing it for months, wearing it at the gym, out running etc. Tested with both alcohol free and normal alcohol fragrances. We found because the moisture is absorbed and expelled through osmosis, combined with the application of fragrances every 2-3 days, The material didn't seem to hold on to any unwanted smells.

Q. Is Lockstone unisex?

A. Yes, Lockstone is unisex.

Q. Can the scent be washed away?

A. It is possible. It takes a while to completely remove the original fragrance as the scent soaks into the core. It is possible, it just wouldn't be immediate.

Q. When you put a fragrance in, will the smell deplete after a while allowing adifferent fragrance to be added?

A. The fragrance sticks around for quite a long time, so we recommend having one fragrance per stone. You can rinse out the original scent using water, but it takes a very long time to completely remove the scent.

Q. You said it stores aftershave fragrance? How does that work exactly?

A. Lockstone works via capillary action. Water molecules are drawn deep into the material and then allowed to migrate back to the surface through osmosis. Here, the water evaporates and releases the fragrance onto the skin in a slow and controlled manner

Q. Does Lockstone come with a fragrance or is it ‘blank’?

A. Lockstone does not feature a fragrance itself. You will be able to add your own fragrance to the stone to make it truly yours.

Q. Can we use our own fragrances?

A. Absolutely. Lockstone is designed to hold all kinds of fragrances, including solid perfumes also.

Q. Can I use essential oils with Lockstone?

A. We recommend our Nightfall Elite pendant for use with essential oils.
