See what we did there?
If not, allow us to bring you up to speed.
For a while, we've been working on bringing sunglasses to market. Now, it's pretty easy to get plastic shades made, not to mention cheap, but that isn't the way we wanted to go.
After much searching, we opted for a material that we all love: wood. Specifically, two different woods, bamboo and birch. We've got sunglasses that feature bamboo arms with steel framework and full birch constructions that feature multiple layers of colour.
Sustainability was a key element to getting these sunglasses made. As we said earlier, getting some cheap plastic landfill wasn't going to cut it. Wood is the sustainable material that we were looking for. Lightweight, strong and naturally flexible, the sunglasses made from bamboo and birch are in a class of their own when it comes to shades. All the wood we've used is FSC rated, so you know we're not clearing out precious forest just for the sake of fashion.
But that's not enough.
We wanted to go even further, taking action against deforestation. So, while the wood we use is sustainably sourced and replenished, we wanted more involvement. With that in mind, £1 from every pair purchased goes directly to the International Tree Foundation, planting trees around the world for nearly a century.
So not only will you be looking sharp when you've got a pair of our sunglasses, you'll be helping maintain, replenish and protect forestry the world over. And when people ask where you got 'em, you can tell them to do the world a favour right here at Vanacci.com
